How do I qualify for hosting at NASplex?

You must meet the following criteria:
• Either you currently maintain your own server, or you have a working knowledge of server hosting
• You understand network security and can provide solutions to mitigate the risks to yourself and others
• You do not provide spam, pornography, warez or other prohibited services as outlined in the Terms of Service
• You are capable of troubleshooting internal problems with your server's OS and software
• You run a reputable company with contact information easily available to the public
Do you offer shared or managed hosting?

No. We only focus on dedicated hosting with well established clients.
What types of servers do you sell?

We only provide enterprise level hardware. This means dual Xeon IBM xSeries servers with hotswappable 10K RPM, SCSI hard drives. Hard drives are mirrored in several RAID configurations.
Can I install my own operating system and software?

YES. You may provide us with a disk image and we will install it for you, or you can do it yourself over the RSA II supervisory adaptor.
How long does it take to get my server?

Normally, your server will be up and running within 24 hours after signing up. You can choose your configuration and signup for service on the products page.
How do you protect my server on the internet?

You are given full control over the choices you have with the security of your system. As an IT professional, you should know how to install and configure software firewalls such as ISA and SELinux. If you require a seperate hardware based firewall, we can install one for you which you can maintain. See the products page for options.
How do you protect my server from power loss?

The IBM xSeries servers have dual power outlets connected to seperate UPS backups in each rack. In addition, diesel generators provide power during extended outages caused by natural disasters.
How do you insure my internet connection?

The datacenter boasts dual connections with two Tier 1 providers to provide failover redundancy if either one should fail. Also, redundancy from our core routers to the dual NIC card in your server is maintained in the event of a switch or cable failure.
How do I access my server?

The IBM xSeries servers come with an RSA II Supervisory Adaptor on a seperate public IP address. This gives you full control over your server through an easy to use browser-based interface. You can completely shutdown your server, restart it and install software from your own remote cd drive.
How many IP addresses can I have?

The base package we offer gives you 5 public ip addresses. You may configure these any way you wish, however the RSA II adaptor requires one of these addresses for itself. Additional IPs are available with pricing on the products page.
What are the NASPLEX DNS Servers?

The datacenter DNS servers are:
PRIMARY: ns1.nasplex.com 206.192.61.245
SECONDARY: ns2.nasplex.com 206.192.61.245
To maintain reverse lookup compliance our DNS servers will automatically replicate your personal DNS if you choose to host your own DNS.
